You may find the stopwatch program useful on quizzes to keep track of your
time. Here's how to use it:
- Download this file to your
desktop. When prompted for a file name, write "stopwatch.jar" in quotes.
Otherwise, your browser may try to change the extension to zip.
- Double click on the file on your desktop to open it.
- Click the On Top button. This will ensure that the time always stays
on top of other windows. Position the time in a corner of your screen.
- Click Set Timer and set the time limit. For example, you would enter
60 for a 60-minute quiz.
- Start the timer and open the quiz in that order.
- You'll see the display turn red when you have one minute left. The
timer will continue to count negatively after reaching 0.
The timer should run at the same rate on all computers. However, this
hasn't been tested. We recommend testing it on your computer to be sure. Run
it for, say, 10 minutes and compare to clock time on your computer or a wall
clock.
