| Approved Equations for Use on Tests You're allowed to use a calculator and an approved sheet of equations on most tests. The equations that we provide you are the most fundamental ones. They're also given in the Chapter Summaries in the text. These are the equations that you may use as starting equations for solving problems. You're not allowed to use any other equations as starting points. We should point out that for the AP Physics B exam in May, you're allowed to use a calculator and a provided sheet of equations for the free-response portion of the exam. However, you're not allowed to use these materials on the multiple-choice section of the exam. Therefore, it's important to know the fundamental equations from memory by the time May comes around. Practice in using the equations is the best way to commit them to memory. They become second nature to you. Take a look at the approved equations at the link below. |
