Boiler Plant Graffiti
|
|
Information on the demolition
|
Originally
scheduled for demolition in the winter of 2000, the long-awaited removal of the
former Watts Hospital boiler plant was postponed to the summer of 2001.
NCSSM students were the beneficiaries of this delay, as they were allowed to
paint graffiti on the walls of the plant in the last few weeks of the 2000-01
school year. |

|
In order to preserve the students'
handiwork, virtually every square inch of the graffiti-filled walls was
photographed the day after graduation. Unfortunately, new layers of
graffiti had covered the original layer by the time most of the photos were
taken. Shown here is one of the first layers on the north wall. |
