This site is intended to be used by students enrolled in the NCSSM Distance Learning AP Calculus Course. This course is currently a collaboration between the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, Dudley High School and South East Halifax High School. Other students or teachers who are interested in using this site on a regular basis should contact the NCSSM Distance Learning Department.
This section contains information about this course, specifically the Course Expectations , the Course Calendar , a Timeline, the AP Syllabus, the Instructor`s Bulletin, and an Online Gradebook. The Instructor's Bulletin is where I will communicate details about the course to you. You should read this section each time you visit the site. I will post important notices here that are of a general nature, such as changes in assignments, due dates, and corrections. Answers so specific mathematics questions will posted in the Discussion Section. The icon in the top lefthand corner of every page will take you directly to the Bulletin. This section contains Mathcad® versions of all of my lectures. You must have Mathcad® 6.0 or later loaded on your computer to view them. You can access these files to review or preview a lesson. You may save any of these files to you computer to use of modify as needed. These files are intended to supplement your textbook. You should always read the related sections in the textbook as you view these lessons. The material in this section is intended for your use in preparing for tests and for the AP Calculus Exams. Included in this section are old tests, AP-style questions, and links to other useful sites. The tests are ones that I have used in the past with this course. There is a clean copy for you to download and use for practice as well as a copy with solutions. Exam Review Sheets and other study aids can also be found in this section. Periodically, as indicated in class or on the syllabus, there will be quizzes for you to take online. You will find in this section the current quiz, with a deadline for taking the quiz and the suggested time for the quiz. Old quizzes, with solutions, will be placed in the quiz archives. This section is intended to be an open area where you can ask mathematics questions. Your questions and my answers will be posted for everyone to read. If you have a very specific question, perhaps related to your grade for example, you should use email and not the Discussion Board. This section will be cleared at the end of each chapter.
