Project Conclusion

Our group successfully accomplished the goals of this  project.  We carried out two successful shoots with two different objects; the eggs and the Jell-O.  We learned how to operate different instruments including: a sound trigger unit, a flash unit, a digital camera, a bb-gun setup, and a delay unit.  We also learned how to make modifications during our run to maximize the aesthetic quality of our pictures.    Finally we were able to use our pictures to support one of our hypothesis.

Egg Conclusion:

Again we were unable to prove the hypothesis completely. As of right now, the only thing that we can prove is that hypothesis (1) that the bullet enter and exits the egg without exploding the egg, is incorrect.  We need a longer span of time to obtain more pictures especially pictures where the bullet is entering the egg and pictures of the bullet exiting the egg to determine whether hypothesis (2) or hypothesis (3) is correct.

Jello Conclusion:

With the pictures we obtained we were not able to effectively prove any hypothesis.  The only hypothesis that's even weakly supported  is hypothesis (3) that the bullet explodes the jello upon exiting the jello by looking at picture 4.  However the backside of the jello is not revealed in picture 4 and not enough pictures of the bullet exiting the jello were taken to prove this hypothesis.  We observed that different pictures tended to support different hypothesis. Our project was not extensive enough to obtain the amount of pictures necessary to prove one hypothesis.  However we were able to tell that jello of different composition acts differently when shot by a bullet

Recommended Project Improvements:

Some of the improvements that we would have liked to have seen was better setup as far as protectiong the surrounding environment. When cleaning the area, it became somewhat tedious and this could have been eliminated with a more well thought out protective covering. Also, the alloted time of the project we felt, could have been more, so that we could have better verified our hypothesis.
