| Acceleration time Because of of impending rain and difficulty with the trigger and delay circuits, I was unable to attain the precise time that the ball is in contact with the club face. It is, however, apparent in the closeup impact shots that the ball is still touching. For the purpose of the project, I will use this data. The ball traveled a little under half it's length, about .75" in the amount of time it took the sound of the collision to reach the mic 6 in or .15 m away plus the 1/1000 second delay of the sound trigger. Displacement / Velocity = Time .15 / 340 = .0004 sec (+.001 delay) Final Velocity / Time = Acceleration 65.7 / .0014 = 46929 m/ss |
