The
Dissection of a Paintball Explosion
Tim Reibold and Brandon Winterling - 5/02
Description of Project
For this project we shot a paintball at a sheet of Plexiglas and recorded its explosion using a digital camera and a rotating mirror. The rotating mirror allowed us to separate the sequence of the explosion spatially across the film. Using this technique we were able to determine how fast paint exits a paintball when it hits and explodes.
