Goal: Our goal was to take photos capturing the events during the shattering of a plate of ice being shot by a high speed pellet. We expected the typical cone-shaped explosion seen in other high speed photographs, such as the famous bullet-through-apple photos. However, we also wanted to catch more than just the explosion stage, such as the initial piercing of the ice.
