A picture of an splash that shows the bowl that I was using as well as the plate of the rotator which it was mounted on.
This is a series of photographs that show the splash at different stages. The first picture is the milk drop just making contact with the bowl and beginning to form a crown on the left side of the splash. The second picture shows the splash as the "rear" side of the splash is carried away by the bowl and the front side piles up on itself and forms a crown. The third image shows the rear side of the splash being carried even further away. There is an interesting imperfection in the crown of the splash that can be seen on the top edge of the crown. I am not sure what caused it. The fourth image shows the half crown almost by itself with a comet tail of milk behind it. The fifth picture shows just the remaining milk above the splash with the rest of the milk drop far behind on the bowl. The final picture shows what happens as the milk is slung off of the bowl. All of the photos in this series were taken with the Nikon D1.
