Conclusion

In this lab we learned a lot of things about not only hydrogen balloons, but also about experimental error. We went through many trials before we actually perfected the techniques for correctly setting off the balloon in a manner that captured the image and provided enough detail for analysis. We had to change pendulums, switch strings, and learn how to pump the right amount of air before explosion. Through this experiment we have concluded that a balloon filled with a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen has enough force to repel objects at some 27.1 m/s, and that at such speeds precaution should be taken so that no one is injured.

All of the pictures you have viewed were closely monitored under the close supervision of trained professionals. We advise that no one try any of these explosions at home unless all of the proper safety precautions are practiced. Remember WE ARE PROFESSIONALS and situations like this can be very hazardous.
