In this project, I used the same setup as I had in a previous splash project during the trimester. I had the dropper timed to my own preference, and set the delay according to the stage in the splash I wanted. I used the Dimage Z1 camera and set it about .2 meters away from my surface. The flash was about .1 m from the surface, except with the metallic blue pin. I had to move it back at that point because I was getting too much glare. The photogate was set under the dropper, which was linked to the delay unit and flash.

in this representation, it says that my surface is a
cup/rubber membrane/liquid soap, however, that was the surface in my earlier
project. I used this animation to note the difference in the two projects.
Rather than a cup, i used a film canister turned upside down with pins in it as
my surface. I mounted it above a bowl, so that the cast off water could
easily be cleaned.

Here you can see how the camera is so close to the
drop. My delay was generally set about halfway, although I sometimes
changed it to get different photos.
