Smash Ball Collision This video shows the collision of a smash ball with a wall at high velocity. A smash ball is used in the sport of smash, and is small, hollow, and plastic. This ball acts very similarly to the tennis ball, as they are both hollow and bouncy. However, the leaving speed of the smash ball is noticeably slower than the speed of the incoming ball. Much of the ball's energy was absorbed by the wall, and thus could not be used to propel the ball off the wall. For this clip, the framerate was 2000 frames/sec, and the shutter speed was 5X, or 1/10000th of a second. |
