Our results and conclusions
The most challenging part of this project was coming up with a setup that worked. We went through three different setup ideas and many smaller modifications within those setups before we succeeded. Based on our experience, the best setup is something that is sturdy, but can be modified somewhat easily. Our second and third setups were very similar in design, but we replaced flimsy materials like cardboard and paperclips with sturdier materials such as wood and nails. The latter setup was more difficult to construct, but it paid off because it eliminated problems like warped cardboard, paperclips bending, and the need for excessive amounts of duct tape. Our final setup was much tidier because it reduced the need for constant reinforcement; it held together on its own. It is definitely worthwhile to put the extra time into making a good setup.
