High Speed Imaging: PAINTBALL EXPLOSIONS
NCSSM: March 31-April 8, 2008
By: Olivia Desormeaux, Catherine Pike, Lucas Ward
Our goal was to capture a high-speed image of a paintball splatter and the exit of paintball from the barrel of the gun. Our secondary goal was to fire the paintballs at different objects, such as an egg, a piece of bread, cheese, a light bulb, and a tin can. To obtain these goals we were to build a splatter chamber out of cardboard and use one of two sensors; a sound sensor, or a photogate.
