Animated
gifs
This
animation is composed of a sequence of images of different milk drops recorded at uniform
time intervals. For more information on creating such animations, click
here.
This
is a sequence of images of a racquetball colliding with a wall on the right. The
images were taken 0.00025 seconds apart. The shapes assumed by the
racquetball are similar to some of those seen in liquid splashes.
These similarities result from the fact that in both cases, a tension force
influences the shape of the ball. For liquids, the force is surface tension
while for the racquetball, the force is the elasticity of the ball.
