Linked droplets

Download clip (620 kB)
The drop creating this splash fell from twice as high as those in the previous two clips or half the height as the first clip.  Here, the column's tip breaks off into 2 large droplets.  The first one to break off is larger than the second.  A third drop appears to be forming from the column, but never breaks off during the column's collapse.  This is in contrast to the previous clip, which yielded 4 small droplets of roughly equal size.
