Bouncing droplet

Download clip (1.1 MB)
A funnel with stopcock at the full drop height was used instead of a syringe to release drops.  The result was a very large, slow splash that gave rise to a gigantic droplet at its tip.  Early on, a tiny droplet appears to separate from the tip of the column and get propelled upward.  Later, as the column develops, ripples of moving water can be seen inside.
