Conclusions
The goal of this project was to see if a balloon containing hydrogen and oxygen would decrease in volume when combusted. We also wanted to see what other phenomenon occured during this reaction. We captured sets of photographs that reveal a marked decrease in volume with a 25% success rate, a great achievement.
Using high speed video and later a rotating mirror, we were able to look at the progression of a single reaction over a larger expanse of time. We were also able to capture photographs of other things that resulted from the reaction such as the rips in the latex that resulted from the high speed tear and the spiral particle trails. Overall, this project can be considered a great success.
