The first two questions are about the experiment described here (there's also a separate link on the web page) and which was other that shared half of Nobel prize in physics in 2002. This experiment tried to detect neutrinos that are created in the earth's atmosphere.
The third question has to do with the sunspot phenomenon. 1. Summarize (in just a few sentences) the evidence presented that some neutrinos created in the earth's atmophere have decayed. Make sure to include which neutrino apparently decayed as part of your answer.
2. What evidence is presented or what conclusion is inferred as to a) what the decaying neutrino (the one you mentioned in part a) decays into?
b) wheter the electron neutrino decays or not?
3. What three pieces of OBSERVATIONAL EVIDENCE are presented in the pictures of sections 18(8-10) that would strongly suggest that sunspots are magnetic phenomena.
I did my own work on this JIT.
