Three-trimester courses that satisfy graduation requirements in physics

PH305 Physics by Inquiry

emphasizes methods of scientific investigation and development of conceptual reasoning

PH403 AB Physics B (Web)

a hybrid online/face-to-face course that helps prepare students for the AP Physics B exam

Two-trimester core course sequences that satisfy graduation requirements in physics

PH306/308 Physics I and II

provides an algebra-based foundation in the principles of classical physics

PH352/354  Physics with Advanced Topics I and II

provides a precalculus-based foundation in the principles of classical physics

In order to take the following sequence as a first NCSSM physics course, successful completion of the physics placement exam is required.  The courses may also be taken as electives following a first-year NCSSM core physics sequence.  They provide preparation for the AP C Physics exams.  PH405 is a 2-trimester course that satisfies graduation requirements in physics. PH406 is a continuation of PH405 can completes the Electricity & Magnetism syllabus.

PH405/406 Advanced Physics (AP-C)

calculus-based treatment of two areas:  i) classical mechanics and ii) electricity and magnetism
